Happy Mother's Day!!

So, this is my first Mother's Day of 3 boys! It has been a wonderful weekend...good weather, good food, and great company with family and friends. That is what my ideal Mother's Day is. I don't need to be pampered or spoiled, I just want to be with the ones I care about most! We decided to have our celebration yesterday because of Chad's busy work schedule. My day started out yesterday waking up to a beautiful card from Chad and the boys and my favorite donuts (so I will start my diet on Monday) from Spudos. Then Bryce gave me this awesome poem:
My Mommy
Mommy I love you for all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you cause you love me, too.
You read to me and care for me I'm growing up so fast.
On this Mother's Day just know my love for you will always last!!

I just love it!! I think the schools really do neat, creative things for the kids. When I was in school I'm pretty sure we did the macaroni necklaces and we made paper flowers to give our moms. Now days they have poems and I have actually gotten real flowers to plant so we can "watch our love grow". Times have changed! Maybe when Charley is in school he will be bringing me home real jewelry!!

Later on in the day we had a wonderful cookout with Chad's family. It was a beautiful day and everyone seemed to have a good time. Chad found some mushrooms and fried them up only for the girls. I don't think Bryce was to fond of this idea so I snuck him a couple! A real fun thing to see yesterday was Bryce riding his bike like he was a pro. A year ago this month he started riding and did a really good job but one fall ruined it and he jumped back on his scooter. We have tried to encourage him but I guess kids will do things when they are ready. He told Chad he wanted to try it out and just like that he took off! After about five times of going back and forth on the sidewalk he had another accident and I thought we were finished but he proved me wrong and rode again! I think he is really determined to keep up with his older brother Ty!!

Finally, the kids went to bed at a decent time and I got a little alone time when Chad went to work. We must have really worn out Charley because he only woke up one time for a bottle last night! I'm guessing that was his Mother's Day gift to me!!

Another thing Chad and I have done for the past couple of years is plant flowers the week of Mother's Day. I always tell him that is what I want for a gift because I really like our patio filled with flowers. We went looking on Friday and I have some great ideas to make it look nice this year! Today, we are getting out all the pots I have so I can get it started tomorrow. Chad told me he has a surprise for me so I'm excited for that but he knows he doesn't have to do that for me...I just like us all to be together!
